Innovative farming that nurtures the land
In the grain golden triangle of North West New South Wales, our farm, Eastgrove, proudly stands as our 2000-acre slice of Australia.
Formerly a part of Old Edgeroi station, a stock station post-World War II, it was subdivided in 1947 and distributed among soldier settlers. One of these settlers, an Australian veteran named Jack Tranter, was bestowed with Eastgrove, a piece of land he named after his hometown in Newcastle. In 1966, the Tranter family passed the torch to us, marking the beginning of our story.
From 1966 to 2001, Eastgrove followed conventional farming practices, employing artificial chemicals in abundance. In 2001, recognising a more sustainable path, we made a pivotal decision to convert the farm into an organic haven. Our focus shifted to ancient grains like Spelt and Khorasan, paving the way for a holistic approach to farming.
Today, our mixed farming techniques redefine standards in North West agriculture. Armed with often-overlooked equipment such as crop harrows and disc ploughs, we cultivate grains, flours, and meat of unparalleled quality. Eastgrove is not just a farm – it’s a commitment to sustainable, high-standard farming that honours our history and nurtures the land for future generations.
